Blue Tears

ArtRage for IPad.   Perfect. Right at my finger tips.   There was no paint or brush within reach, just my iPad and the only digital paint medium that offers immediacy.  Very appropriatelyly named, the app helped quiet the storm that blew through driving pellets of blue tears as waves of body fluids gushed from my wound. Had this pouring out of fears and pain been done in paint, I would have done some controlled runs with thinning medium leaving Good Paint Chemistry to the likes of Ralph Mayer. I didn't give a shit about good chemistry. I wanted to scream out the anguish. It is too sad, we don't have a brush when we need one.  Time pacifies and art is lost.

  1. See, I knew, your creative side would come out... btw do you journal your thoughts? I've found doing that helps as well.. I write, since I can't draw worth beans..

    1. My blog posts are my journal. I used to write on Write. Pages of feelings. Then when I went back and read them, I had a tendency to think hogwash and delete. Time had cured and I had moved on. Painting isn't as explicit as words. The emotions are released in color, form, brush stroke and method of application. The vagueness of the combination of these elements keeps the painting alive as time changes our perspective.

    3. I didn't mean to erase your comment. Sorry. I hit the wrong spot. Even though looking back on past writings makes them seem trite or immature, they help purge the emotions that made you pick up the pen. Those initial writings help make you feel better; take them to a higher level, the third person, and art can happen. :-)). Given the vagueness of painting elements, I like the first expression. Try to do it again and you can't. You'd have to become a surrealist and spend a lot of time figuring out which symbols from the real world fit your emotional world.

    1. That's all I had. I'm better today. Still leaking fluid, but just out of my wound, not my eyes. I get a shower today and the large dressing replaced with a smaller one; big excitement.

    1. Painting is more expressive than words. That's why I hate titles. Paintings have so much to say on so many levels.

    1. I really would have liked to run it under the faucet a bit. Slowly, I'll heal. They knocked the energy out of me, but not the determination. Thanks Jean.

    1. I really could have used some paint! Or maybe it was just as well? My fears splashed with anger would have made a mess. I had no tolerance for appropriate drying times. You can only get so wild with ArtRage.

  6. L.W! how are you feeling??? Gosh, I was so surprised to see you had to have surgery. How is it all going now? Hope you are feeling good. What an ordeal. I worry about lung cancer for myself. I smoked for many years. I do know that the doctors and hospitals are so wonderful at keeping us afloat!!! Sending up positive white-light healing thoughts just for you!

    1. Thanks Celeste. This is not a walk in the park. I'm home, but far from really being home. I was very lucky I had that cold in late April. The chest X-ray my internist ordered caught the shadow that a couple of other tests determined was cancer. I was blown away. I had no symptoms. The cold had cleared up and I was fine, but not. Luck and God were definitely involved. Recovery takes about four to six weeks. I'll be recovered when I don't think the studio is too far to go. Thankfully, I will need no further treatment.
