It was windy! It wasn't the greatest weather for Plein air watercolor, but I had a great time watching the paint fly. It was a great break from Morris who was bogging me down--or was it my off again, on again knee discomfort?
My knee is going to be a knee of the past. Enough ice packs, cortisone and anti inflammatories. Three weeks of a little discomfort and that is it! Actually, pain from replacement is over in a week and a half. Then physical therapy takes care of the rest. Hope your viral cold is under control. Those spring time colds can be nasty.
I had to laugh in reading through your last several posts - the wind here is howling outside. But instead of a lovely warm Caribbean wind - ours is cold and rainy! In fact, we are having snow in the higher elevations today. And I have a full on case of Spring fever! I admire your fortitude to paint in such unwieldy conditions and love the immediacy of your vacation watercolors! Nice work, Linda. You are an inspiration!
Thanks Susan. I'm sorry you are starved for Spring. We were too. So we picked up and went looking for it with our points earned from previous holidays. As usual on trips, I brought watercolors, actually a kid's set of WC pads and what was left of a WC block, 6 sheets of paper. While the temps were warm and there was sun, I never expected wind--never even thought about the possibility. I chose to ignore it, work with it. I had to, the supplies, few as they were, weighed down the beach bag! But I must say 18 mile an hour windy conditions do not let paint dry where you set it down.
Only you would take on the wind, Linda :) Just been looking back at what I've missed - your prolific. Can't comment on all of it but Morris and the guitar is great ... all those angles, and the details, right up my street!
Hope you had a good break and go back with your batteries fully charged! Love the idea of Ellis as the High Wind Drifter ... kinda Clint Eastwoodesque.
It's all blue skies, daffodils and bluebells here ... always a wind though!
Fighting the,winds was just the break I needed from Morris. When I do that kind of painting, I think it's healthy to have a mother format that offers relief. Plein air wet the not wet watercolour was,perfect.
I found your images amazing which is full of encouragement and i had bookmarked your blog too for all upcoming updates thanks for sharing such precious post.
