Make A Wish

Make A Wish and BLOW!   I edited this digital finger painting. Changed the format to square. The (static) square form seems to quiet energetic compositions, balances them out. This could make it on to canvas? This is as still a still life I ever want to paint. :-)). Revised post Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Make A Wish, an iPad doodle I did using two art apps, ASKetch and Brushes. Initially, I doodled a drawing of whatever popped into my head, pastries and birthday parties for some odd reason,  in ASKetch and saved it in My Photos. Well, birthdays are colorful events, so I imported the black and white drawing to Brushes where I added color. It was a delightful evening of watching the new sitcoms and letting my mind float free. Congress had been dominating my thoughts all day as I watched the stock market drop and my retirement funds with it.

They are an embarrassment to this country, a humiliation. They have disgraced the nation and, like naughty children, they need discipline.  Cutting their salaries, holding back our taxes,  getting the big monied citizens who fund their re-election campaigns to refuse and sending the kids home would be effective punishments. Tell Congress to get the hell out of Dodge. They are sending moms off the deep end, endangering infants, valiant law enforcement officers and our city streets.  Unforgivable behavior from statesmen elected by the people to serve. How dare them sully this country of mine.-- And the Tea Party? Who  ever heard of a party within a party.? This fan of Thomas Jefferson's ideology wants nothing to do with them, let them get their own clubhouse and get out of mine. Idiots all! --I guess my free spirited doodle  titled Make A Wish was actually my inner voice suggesting we need to blow these people out of the party. Weird how the mind works. Ain't art grand!

  1. Yes, it is. Good to be able to create expressive pieces; very good for the blood pressure too.

    1. I've always felt blessed that I had the means to vent. Art was one. The piano is two. And I've been known to write letters to the editors when absolute clarity was necessary.

  2. Yes. A big definite YES. Art gives you a chance to get the steam ot of your system and create beautiful things. Such as these incredible, fabulous goodies , a must for my sweet tooth. I think politic men are a scary bunch, all of them and not only in the US. Have a happy, sweet and colorful day Linda! Hope you don't mind, I just had a cup cake and an ice cream cone! :)

    1. Thanks Helen. Why sweets and birthday images emerged was perplexing. Then the title that popped to mind explained them. Politicians are very scary. I suspect they are the kids who needed the spotlight in high school--those who ran for front of the class positions, or the ones who spent a lot of time in the principal's office. The cake and ice cream is on me.

  3. Fabulous rant, not that it means anything to me, and glorious colour in that doodle!

    1. I had to rant, to vent, especially after watching this young mom try to crash through the White House gates with her year old baby in the car. Obviously distraught. Obviously in some sort of financial bind. Obviously, suicidal. Obviously to the harm she was exposing her child to. I am anxious to hear her story. The potentially violent chaos on the President's doorstep, isn't something we see in this country. It was disconcerting.

  4. Your digital doodles are fenomenal, Linda! This still life looks absolutely delicious! I hope your country sorts out this mess soon, it's ridiculous from my part of the world.

    1. Like I said, embarrassing. Finger painting digitally has been great fun. The medium has potential. Traditionalist artists may scorn it, but to produce any worthwhile images, you still need a couple of tools not on the app menu: a number 004 index finger and a mind curious enough to spend time fiddling about with the possibilities. :-)). I got my iPad by requesting it for payment for a portrait I did--a milestone portrait, the one that finally convinced me portraiture was my cup of art. Over this recoup period, the device has kept me from going mad with all this laying around.
