Pepto Bismol and Markers

I've got a bum weekend going here with Pepto Bismol and coloring with markers. I told you yesterday that blurry photo of the restaurant that is no longer had potential. It would make a nice little abstract. I tested it out with my markers while preparing dinner at noon so I could spend the afternoon on the couch looking at the new books I ordered. Using this photo for a serious painting, (one done on canvas) with a lot of blurring is something to think about, but for now I was just trying to do something somewhat constructive. I do hate laying around feeling out of sorts; it's such a waste of a day.

The Zen of Creative Paintingg by Jeanne Carbonetti and Fragile Beasts by Tawni O'Dell was delivered to my door by the UPS guy who was not Tom Hanks this morning. Thumbing Through the Zen book I thought Hey this looks like something I can relate to--under the title it says "An elegant design for revealing your Muse." Well I personally have never been pleased with the muses, I do think they amuse themselves at my expense. However, the color plates look like the free association I do like to do with paint. Both will entertain me till my tongue turns black and I'm feeling better. (I'm one of the rare people whose tongues turn black when they take Pepto Bismol. I don't mind. The black tells me I'm better).

Fragile Beasts is a novel. My friend recommended it. She said It's about the artistic process, which of course interests me.

  2. Yes. I think it's Spring allergies combined with post nasal sinus drip.
I got it a couple of days ago. The odd thing is supposedly I don't have any allergies according to the last doc I went to. The nice thing is two little crocus are going to bloom any minute out in my garden. I can hardly wait. You didn't miss much with my drawing. I was just biding time till the bacon was ready. I don't feel like doing much.

  4. I'm not taking anything but those little pink tablets. It'll pass. What does zinc do for you anyway? Don't we get it in food? I've been eating everything in sight. Eating seems to make me not mind at all that my throat is drippy.

  5. zinc boosts the immune system.. Dr. Oz recommends it.. he says he takes it along w/ vitamin D-3 it.. Whenever I've felt like I was coming down w/something, I would suck on a zinc lozenge and sure enough, it works..

  7. Thanks Leovi, I'm on the mend on the couch reading about Zen as the way to finding your artistic voice. I have doubts, but different viewpoints are interesting.
