April 18, 2011 SNOW

My blue palette didn't get any brighter when I looked out the window this morning and saw SNOW!

ON THE POTTED PANSIES,

IN THE YARD,

ON THE PATCH OF GREEN IN THE WOODS, ON THE BRANCHES OF THE BUDDING TREES.

MY HEART WAS NOT LIFTED.

It was at supper yesterday though. My first born and his family drove in to celebrate Passover, even though Passover begins tonight at sundown, (we do celebrations when all of us can get together). I was going to make a somewhat traditional Seder at our house, did all the shopping for it and pulled out all the dishes, but last minute we all decided to have an untraditional luncheon at J. Alexanders where the carrot cake beats an unleavened strawberry short cake hands down and others wash the dishes. The best part was we all decided to meet each other in Vegas in June. That decision was thrilling. My heart fills and spills over when I see my three beautiful men, their beautiful women ,(my bonus daughters), and their beautiful children all in the same room, laughing, horsing about, laughing, chattering, laughing, whining, laughing, being close.very This will be a very special occasion. It's only happened once before since everyone scattered across the country after college. NOW I really do need to shop. AND IT'S SNOWING! TWO INCHES ON THE DECK TABLE IN TWO HOURS TIME. I hate global warming, but red and yellow have been added to my palette.

  1. Early June Hallie. I figure about ninety something...I'll have to stay wet. I do love to swim WITH MY KIDS. Over hot coals I'll walk to bring all these people together.

  2. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I've been trying to organise one for ages, Mom has 5 kids and the extended family is huge. No success so far... I am sure it will be a very special trip.
