Aside from banning the use of any drawing implements including the markers, I desided to restrict size. The WC block is 12 x12, I divided the sheet into two 6 by 8s and two 4 x 6 spaces. Little splashes of color was the method of the day. The
Lady in The Yellow Hat, 6 x 8, was the most successful of two sketches.
Very loose and beautiful, Linda! Wonderful work...
ReplyDeleteLoose but recognizable was the goal. :-)). I keep thinking I should have brought the pastels.
DeleteIncredibly just finished a lady with a yellow hat myself...must be on the same vibes :-)) Love this one , so free and loose.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good vibe to share. The yellow hat got me to see smaller. The grand scene was too grand for what I needed to do--loosen up. Grand scenes also demand careful pencil work. I want none of that right now.
DeleteLove loose images, leaves lots for the viewer to do.
ReplyDeleteThe idea is to pull the viewer in, yes? I always like those paintings where I have to bring something to the party. Unfinished does just that.
DeleteKnap hoor met zo weinig zo'n schilderij maken lieve groetjes Danielle
ReplyDeleteYou loosened up beautifully with the yellow hatted lady! Hope you are enjoying your warm winter break!
ReplyDeleteGentle and beautiful! You are loose. Sun and sea have had their effect on the artist. Makes me want to go to the beach (and that's saying something).
ReplyDeleteSo very nice! Luscious comes to mind! I so love yellow!

I can smell the sea, sun and sand! So nice to see you unwinding ...and ... Ellis can come out from behind the newspaper now!
ReplyDeleteyou certainly packed a lot into a little here ... good job!
Hi Linda! I love this kind of work where brushes and colors just decide for themselves. Always a surprise awaits you. Hope you're having a good time! :)
