Sitting in a window bay over looking the Caribbean, my thirty minute AM drawing session was bathed in bright sunlight, the real thing. My subject matter wasn't the diners at the next table, but a reference photo of this awesome lady doing what she always did long after most hairdressers hung up their scissors. That's loving what you do enough to carry on in spite of the toll the profession takes on hands and limbs. She has the the drive of the artist, the craftsman, the drive that lasts a lifetime. Lucky us.
Fantastic sketch, Linda! I can see the love of her work in her face - beautifully done. While you're there, send a bit of warmth this way :)

Thanks Ksthryn. The reference was posted on FB by my friend in Zihuatanajo. BTW. My first watercolor was a bust! I lost my touch. Maybe tomorrow?
DeleteI knew immediately who this was. So you are there basking in the sun? Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteIt was your post! I loved it! Yes, we're at the pool and i have a signal standing under this palm tree, if I walk to my left, no signal.
