Part of me poking around with Windows 8 is to transfer photos to the Photo App, then see if I can connect up and create an App for Blogger on the desktop so it's easily accessible? It's all in a day's work when getting acquainted with a new computer system--a hard day's work. But Photo Management and blogging go hand in hand and is my major requirement of a computer.
So far, all I have been able to do is to round up my drawings of Sargent drawings from my iPad and email them over to the new computer. That was easy; and I learned a bit more about the email app and how photos are stored. Then I hooked up my external hard drive to get the rest of my drawings of Sargent drawings to see how that would go and.......nothing. I couldn't get a choice of the files on that drive to drop down or pop up when I opened photos on the post page--I did, however, manage to pin Blogger to the Windows 8 Start page. (I think; I haven't checked it out yet).
Scary, this new format. Makes me nervous. I haven't watched all the tutorials yet; I had to watch the first one--Using The Touch Screen--three times. Duh. --But here I am on Blogger writing a post. Here are the Sargents I've transported from my iPad. And now to figure out how to access my external drive.....
DID IT! Only took an hour and a half. --Did learn I have 5,763 photos on that external drive--not all of them mine. But that's a mystery to be solved another time.
THE QUALITY OF THESE IMPORTS FROM THE EXTERNAL DRIVE IS POORER THAN IT
IS WHEN IMPORTED INTO MY VISTA SYSTEM. Hopefully, it's the nut behind the wheel, for the drawings are a lot better than these translations. Like, I said, the curve is going to be a long one.

ahhhhh you and I both love those Sargents! Lovely! Glad you are figuring out the new system. I am sure it will all be 2nd nature in no time! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteSargent is such a good teacher of values.
As usual, the art is wonderful at this site. As for Windows 8, let me know how you like it. I think it is about time I get a new system.
ReplyDeleteThat's what my son thought when he was at my 6 year old or older Vista and immediately ordered me a new one. What a love! Now, I'm clicking away and hoping full comprehension will go off in my head any minute. First tip to offer is to read every little tiny thing written on a page. I missed the small print on the email app and now have a whole new email rather than the one everybody knows. Duh One.
DeleteGood luck with the new system, you are way more patient than me! And you are getting there! The Sargents are good to see.
ReplyDeleteI found a couple more last night. I'm about to post and see how adding photos goes. I just downloaded my old photoshop program. it's working a bit different in this system. I took the day off Windows 8 yesterday and read my new Van Gogh book. It shook my creative muse awake a bit--enough to pullout my graphite box and do a little copy of what Van Gogh liked too copy. And the snow keeps falling......Ellis and I have cabin fever. I'm sick of making up what's for lunch and dinner.
