This watercolor doesn't come close to the truth of the glorious Caribbean. The color of this sea can't be matched on the run with watercolor. The efflorescent aquamarine doesn't come in a pan or a tube of paint. It just is as it is. I decided to try nonetheless.
Glorious painting and pictures Linda! In short...a great finale to your vacation! :) I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year 2014 !
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen and the same to you and yours. While Mexico is a decked out for the holidays, there is something missing: snow and slush and nippy temperatures. We'll be enjoying those things this evening.
Deleteoooooo you did a wonderful job with the color of the ocean! Welcome back into the snow and slush...hope you have a great trip home!
ReplyDeleteThat's what's here alright. Gloomiest of homecomings. Ugh.
DeleteI assume that you are either home or soon will be, and I wish you a Happy X-mas and a Happy New Creative Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you too Roger. 2014 will be an excellent year to paint. It's written in the forecast.
DeleteI really like your watercolor. YOu may have been trying to capture the color of the ocean, but I think you have painted what I think of as the FEELING of ocean and clouds. To me that tops the exact right color.
ReplyDeleteHappy you had a marvelous time
