I'm back, Well Almost

This photo will not be used as a reference. I promise.  But I am so pleased to have this horror story behind me. I had to take the shot.  I'm sitting up in the chair waiting for breakfast. I think they are going to kick me out of ICU today, which is a great thing, but also sad. The people here at Beaumont Hospital's ICU have been fantastic. They don't leave you alone for a minute!  I will miss them bothering me--but then, it's my own fault, I was up all night peeing and peeing is a sign you don't need them anymore. So downstairs or upstairs I'll go,for another day or two?  I should be disconnected from my tangle of tubes by tomorrow or Sunday and home on the couch bitching to Ellis.  After that I see the doc in two weeks and by then I should be myself; doc's don't have the post op appointment till there's nothing to complain about.  I will have to finish those paintings in my studio after all. I am a very lucky me.  Thank you for your prayers and best wishes; they worked!

Post script: if any of you are still smoking, quit.  That's the first question all of the doctors I met here asked.  --And keep the cadmium colors out of your mouth.  They are on the list of carcinogens that cause lung cancer.  Bummer how colors so beautiful could be deadly.

Kudos for knowing to keep the cads out of the studio. They have great replacement colors.
Cheers, my friend. Hope your recovery goes smoothly.

    1. Hi Linda - just got your meaning.
All the major companies have their name on a primary which is cad free.
I like Holbein Permanents, but Gamblin have used a formula for the cadmiums which make them so safe they do not need
California Labels warnings. They also have the safest level for all hazardous paint - lead etc...Check them out.

Glad you are getting back to feeling more yourself.

  8. I turn my back for five minutes and look what you get up to! You're not to be trusted.
    Thanks for the update, Linda.
Now stop swanning it in the ICU and get back to work.

Meantime, take it steady, do what you are told and behave yourself.

    In my prayers, Dominus Vobiscum

    1. It came about that fast: hacking cough cold; doctors visit chest X-ray, CAT scan; PET scan; Pulmonary function tests; lobe with tiny tumor removal and here I am! No unusual symptoms. Quit smoking years ago. Recovered completely from cold. Lucky cold; good doctors; plenty of God. I'm fine and anxious to get home. I have more painting to do.

    1. Now I'm just fighting to have a bowel movement. Then they let you go home! --I more likely to be able to draw them one. It's difficult to get back to your normal self after all the drugs. :-))
