Back On Track

I started this landscape in oils, (a first), last December.  I picked it
up again today. My mood was carefree, a most enjoyable way to paint.

I cracked those studio doors open today, straightened up, got the oils out of the deep freeze and tackled the last oil on the easel and the second ever.  It was a really good day. It won't look like it to you, but after Skyping with Sharon Wright, I felt revived--I think it was because I told her I hadn't been in the studio for weeks and didn't care?  I really did, but I needed the time off.  That vacation ended at a quarter past three this afternoon.

My Guys revisited. Redrawing was necessary, the heads were out of whack.  This was the second serious oil portrait  I attempted. I started it more than a year ago. I was overly ambitious and cocky.  I feel more skilled now.  We'll see how skilled, as it progresses.

    1. Thanks. I feel fresh. When I left this painting, it looked like a greeting card. It needed messing up.

    1. I don't think finish is going to happen. I'll get so far with it and if I have the essence of them, I'll stop. My reference photos are horrendous, so loose is how it has to be. Lucky I know them well. :-)).

    1. This portrait is. I was too ambitious when I started it. I was too cautious with the paint too. This is one I can play with--and I do love to play in the paint. :-))
