Another iPad sketch done in the app Art Rage, which seems to be my favorite of the art apps I've downloaded. Amusing myself with these primitive abstract still life's is more fun than reading or watching television while recouping. I'm not a big fan of doing still life's, but I am a big fan of exercising my skills. These days still life's offer the best opportunity. IPad drawings are 5 3/4" x 7 3/4". I have no idea why I can deal with this small size on the iPad, but not in the studio. I think it maybe because, I have to sit to paint small and there is no sitting when in front of an easel.
Looks like you are having some fun. I think you are right, the difference in movement makes possible with an ipad.
ReplyDeleteIt's a handy device. Drawing on it is doable in a semi reclining position and it's a clean medium. You excellent in it in my book. You've really got patience to investigate all the possibilities.
DeleteI actually like those small works of art. Framing several of them, especially in the colors you are presenting, can really change the feeling of a room.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you do. I used to be a fan of groupings of small paintings, but I've simplified my wall decor to strategic paintings hung strategically. The only groupings I have in the house now are of family and friends. These iPad drawings would actually classify as prints--unlimited prints. They only exist in the iPad as photos and must be printed out to be tangible. They are fun amusements. I just used one the other day as a birthday card for my granddaughter.

ReplyDeleteIt's the only way I can comfortably draw right now. There is card stock and it comes in post card size. An iPad drawing would print out nice on a home printer, BUT might be costly with regards to ink cartridges. Postcard stock is absorbent; it'll soak up a lot of ink. When I made personal note cards for myself, I used Kinko's, a UPS company. I only painted out 30 cards, so I selected their best paper stock. The job cost $60. --It was a four sided card with one of my paintings on the front and another on the back with the text "Portraits by Linda Roth." I wanted my friends and acquaintances to know what I can do. Nobody was aware I had this gift. The method you use depends on how many you need. Going out through the mails, you do need sturdy stock. How you choose to print, depends on how many you want and how much you want to spend.
