Photo Hunt Nil. Patrick Swayzy Thumbs Up

Churning,
Worrying,
Wondering what's next?
I couldn't find the rain.
Damn!

All I found was my Jamaica Beach. What a waste of a day! I've been through all my photo files and can't find "Rain." I wanted to start a large canvas. I've had "rain" on my mind for quite some time. The photo has got to be stuffed into a file with a different name? That's what I get for sloppiness. One more place to look, here online. I posted it once...but it's gone, gone, gone, whoa woe woe.

With  the melody playing in my head and "whoa whoa whoa" on the brain, I sidestepped to YouTube to find the Righteous Brothers singing the song I loved to dance to and sing along with on Saturday nights before designated drivers. It still makes me laugh  babe. Whoa whoa whoa .

Which lead me to: Patrick Swayzy in Dirty Dancing, an absolute bad boy hunk of a guy, and another song I loved to dance dirty to myself and still do.  Turn your volume down for this one, but do do big screen. That man was a dream to look at and watch. Talented too. Love those hips.

While my photo hunt came up nil, my walk back to the  sixties and seventies (Mad Men--where do those people live)--was quite delightful. While I twisted and shouted, the oven repair guy stopped by and silently gave me my clock and one oven  back. He'll see me next week with the new motherboard.  I guess we're dating? I guess again this evening, I'll be watching a pot.

  1. That's the first time I've actually watched Dirty Dancing...think I've been living under a stone, although admit I have heard of it. Hope you find Rain, perhaps it's under this here stone of mine.

    1. The movie is a classic. The story is the coming of age of a young girl. The music is great. The dancing better. While the parents were oh so Mad Men proper, the kids were not. I was a kid like "Baby."

    1. But not a cute day. The best part was when I gave up my search and You Tubed through
Dirty Dancing, Mickey & Sylvia, and Patrick Swayze videos. He was such a talented dancer and quite a looker. There's a video of him dancing with his professional dancer wife at an award show in honor of
Whitney Huston. They were fantastic. He looked like he had been trained in ballet--very impressive.

  3. What a way to end my night, Linda!! Thanks for that little video clip! Dirty dancing was one of my all time favorite movies...which I've seen hundreds of times. LOL I always feel like I can dance like that but know in my heart that I would land in the hospital the moment I do !!!

    1. The guy was quite a dancer as well as a looker. I've noticed in my old age, that I prefer to dance alone. After all those years dancing with guys who stayed in one place and made my hip freeze, I've decided I like to dance with me. I do what I do and go where I go--probably looking a lot like "Elaine" on "Seinfeld." LOL. The saving grace is dancing is great exercise.

  4. You were everywhere looking for that damn photo, weren't you? I still "fondly" remember "Louis, Louis", and those were al the lyrics. Oh ... wait, there was also, "I gotta go ... Ooo ... Ooo..."

    1. Stay tuned to Out On A Limb. I take requests.

I didn't find it in my files, I found it in my piles. Some cabinets got straightened out. It was a bust day after all.

I have faith that the missing rain will turn up.

    1. Not so cool waiting for a pot to boil, but the set up was the set up--not our usual calculated kind.

  6. Pat and I had a mis-spent 'childhood' ... Rock 'n Rollers who over the years jived their way into Latin American ... My old Squadron hire a hotel for a weekend, in Stratford-upon-Avon, each year. We still cut-a-rug on the dance floor there!

There's nothing worse than searching and not finding! On the other hand, I often unearth forgotten treasures in the process. Hope you find it soon.

    1. I wouldn't say they were misspent John. We had a lot of fun. Rock and Roll had a beat and some pretty funny lyrics. Next year is my 55 HS reunion, I wouldn't miss it for the world--not so much to see that old gang of mine, but to dance to the dance band and LOL "the oldies, but goodies. LOL.

Rain will turn up. If not, I'm pretty sure it's going to rain (Sonny and Cher).

    1. I found a hard copy by straightening a few bins that needed straightening up. Sometimes I think we lose things just to get us to clean up our act. The film was fun Jane. Lots of memories in the music--and appreciation of PS good looks.

  8. Isn't it funny how music takes you right back in time...like you are "there"? Whenever I hear the BeeGees (which has been a number of times lately, because of Robin) I am right there in my apartment in Florida with my then husband and our Lhasa Apso dog! And don't get me started about the 60's..haha.Agree on all counts about the Righteous Bros and Patrick Swayze. What talent!
I like that you did a stove sketch from life even though your plans went sideways. To me, that spells artist.
