Holiday Photos

By special request, my holiday photos: I didn't take as many this time as last. We stayed in the same places and did the same things. The only thing I did differently was to play in the surf instead of just walk along side it. I had plans of actually swimming, but then one strong knock down and drag from a wave sent me back to shore. The Caribbean along the hotel strip has strong waves and an undertow one doesn't want to mess with. Recording the waves was safer.

A BETTER VIDEO WOULD COULD HAVE BEEN MADE SHOWING THE HIGH CHOP, BUT I WAS AWESTRUCK BY THE POWER OF THE SEA.

THE BEST SUNRISE I CAUGHT ON CAMERA WAS ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT IN DETROIT:

THE SUNRISES IN CANCUN SUGGESTED RAINS WOULD BE PASSING THROUGH.

AND THEY DID--BUT ONLY FOR AN HOUR OR LESS DURING WHICH TIME HONEY SULKED.

POOR SUNRISES OR NOT, EVERY MORNING WE HAD OUR COFFEE SITTING ON THE SEAWALL GRATEFUL TO BE THERE. WE DO LOVE THE BEACH.

ELEVEN AM, WE SWITCHED TO A BEER AND A BLOODY MARY. WE MAY BE GETTING ON, BUT WE'RE NOT TEATOTTLERS

THE BEST PHOTO WAS TAKEN FROM THE PLANE AS WE APPROACHED. THE COLOR OF THE CARIBBEAN IS GLORIOUS AND IS WHAT MADE HONEY AND ME LOVERS OF THIS SEA OFF THIS BEACH THAT RUNS ALONG KULKUCAN BOULEVARD, CANCUN, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO

I NEVER SAW THE SUNSET IN MEXICO. THE ONLY ONE I SAW WAS FROM THE AIR HEADED HOME--AND I ALMOST MISSED IT WHILE TRYING TO COMPLETE JUST ONE SUDUKO PUZZLE. IT SEEMS I HAD LEFT MY SMARTS AT HOME WITH MR. WILSON.

  3. We have fun as soon as we round the corner and the Caribbean comes into full view. I don't think I'll ever tire of that view Agnes.

  4. You're very kind Joan. Aside, from my shot of the Caribbean from the air and that Detroit sunrise, my photos this trip were pretty mediocre. I was soaking it all in with my senses.

  5. Great photos, and it all looked so relaxing there. Our son went to Cancun with a party of friends in 2010 and he loved it too.

  6. We were a couple of weeks before the crowds Ann and stayed at hotels where children are few. There was one little rascal though who whisked my noodle out from under my chair and ran away. I ran after her and snatched it back saying, "Hey kid, that's my noodle, get your own." A day later I noticed her with her own--which looked a lot like mine. Obviously, we had had a misunderstanding.

  8. For thirteen years, Cancun has been the best place to forget your troubles and be happy. Just three plus hours away on a non stop flight and you're on the beach under a palapa contemplating jumping in the pool. Take a bit of art supplies and a suduko book and it's total contentment. I'm ashamed to say we have yet to see the Mayan ruins--but are planning to do so on our next trip IF we have time.LOL

  10. The showers were warm, light and fleeting Evelyn. We never bothered to leave our chairs.Cancun is a windy place. Weather comes in fast and blows away faster. Sun with clouds is the normal forecast.
