Watercolor Plus

Add pastels to a second quicky watercolor of my beach hat and the painting becomes less luminous, but much more energetic. Watercolor by itself doesn't suit my temperament; it needs the boost of pastels, india ink, colored pencils or even crayons to energize the picture plane. I do like to make my mark undiluted.

  1. I had to look twice to believe the were the same hat. Quite different, but I can imagine that it's not done until you feel comfortable with it, hence your signature touches.

  2. Two different paintings of the same hat Evelyn. Two different expressions. The second one is much more me than the first.

  3. Ciao, I like this composition of colors, but I find very very nice the images with trees and snow.
I replay to your question: I use
just acquerelli and lot of water.
    Ciao, ciao, Floriana

  4. Thank you Floriana for responding. Your darks are dark and give your paintings the strength I admire in paintings. Thank you also for commenting on Winter. Of the four, it has been an eye-opener for me.
