Doing these charts and learning how to mix these soft, colors made,e pull it out from storage. The slowly drying and blending features of oil fit the needs of my image. If I needed to darken or lighten a color, then I used a palette. Squeezing out little dabs so many times made me aware of just how much paint I was using.

I kept thinking about your gadget often. :-))Linda Rothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02833417183469551153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2153983949078742556.post-86562095496652077712014-05-06T09:38:07.864-04:002014-05-06T09:38:07.864-04:00Naturally - you know I would like this one because...Naturally - you know I would like this one because I love the breaking up of solid form. Not only did I discover the hues I needed, but no hue mixed for the charts was wasted. A series of lovely grays developed that contributed to the blurriness I wanted.

Linda Rothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02833417183469551153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2153983949078742556.post-50054644236651837272014-05-05T22:27:49.805-04:002014-05-05T22:27:49.805-04:00Wow Linda, this painting is stunning!! Portraiture and figurative drawing is the ultimate drawing/painting challenge. The best abstractions come from a sound background in drawing. The two genres go well with one another. Particularly if you're attracted to the gestural portraiture style, which I am. Thank you again. I really appreciate your kind words. Next: Wildfire!
