Sunday I'll have a Full House And I'm Not Talking Poker

L.W.R'S PRIMER FOR PREPARING FOR HOUSE GUESTS
Wait till the last minute, then run around like crazy making the house look like nobody lives there.

No pancake pillows for my babies. Only the best from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Empty the dryer. Three days is long enough.

Empty guestroom drawers . Those jeans won't
fit ever again . The drawers aren't magic.

Find wood glue and repair overzealous vacuum damage.

Get rid of all the books you thought you would read while The Borgia's were on,
but stashed on top of all the others. Put Kleenex in the box for the next soppy movie.

.Kelly wants to bake her strawberry pizza.
Wash out the seasoning cabinet. Put
the Basil where she can find it.

MORE BEER!  MORE KOOL-AID!  MORE SODAS!

Tarragon mat looks better with pencil  than whatever that green was.
Glad  it came in time. Glad I'm a perfectionist who can't leave well enough alone. Kelly's gift is a go.

No knock offs here. This and that will have to wait.  But the abstract is too
busy. Tough rocks. Small stuff  for the next two weeks.

CLEAN THE STUDIO SINK!

Figure where to hide the bar clutter then

FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE: GET A PERICURE!

No. Wait for Erin. Young ladies love their toenails painted and nanas like their toenails painted too sitting next to young granddaugters.

  1. Hahaha, you are worse than me when I get house guests! But I don't have grandkids (yet...). Enjoy your granddaughters, Linda!

    1. Guests are a good thing overall I think. They do move you to do stuff you could go without doing forever. Thanks. I'm looking forward to it. I don't see them , but once a year.

  2. OH boy are you busy, and that vacuum must be very powerful.

    1. Yes, it must have been. I didn't do it though. I paint. Others vacuum. I suspect a maid service did it a while back. They don't tell you though; they just run away.

  3. Hola Linda. Estoy como tú, recolocando toda la casa porque en una semana también tendré huéspedes. Vendrán familiares míos de distintos lugares de España. Estoy muy feliz. Un abrazo.

    1. We're having four guests with a possibility of four more. I have no idea where I'm going to put them, but we'll work it out. I am looking forward to some action around the house. Our family is scattered across the country too and schedules are rarely compatible. I'm not a big fan of the nuclear family plan.

  4. It looks somewhat like me when I have guests...running around so it seems nobody lives in the house as you rightfully pointed out :-)
You disappeared from my blog roll , ( not yours or my fault ) and it was only when I saw your new post on another blog that I realised you were no longer on my list. Now I will go and try to get you back :-)

    1. Blogger and Chrome do get fowled up sometimes. I was following so many people, my blog roll got unmanageable. I cut it to ten. I figured the artists who post regularly will be in that top ten regularly--and when the artists who post not so regularly do so, they too will be in that post. I'm going to have to figure out if all the people who post regularly fit into that ten limit--if not I'll increase to twenty five--but I think fifteen would do it? We fool around while paint dries.

  5. OMG ... are you sure you've got it all? WOW, you are a whirlwind! Kelly's gift looks super with that mat color. The boys look fabulous. And yes, your grand-daughter would love to go for a manicure/pedicure with you. :) You are the hostess with the most-est!!

    1. Tarragon is a great color for graphite drawings on the creamy color of Strathmore drawing paper. I'm so glad I couldn't rest with the sage or whatever pale gray green I got. Double matting is really an elegant treatment.

The guys are coming along, but after watching my portrait CD again, I'm sorry I couldn't start them over. I learned some tips that I thought valuable, well worth the 13 dollars that I dickered about and then said "What the hell." I get weird sometimes--well times I'm spending big sums on art supplies.

I hate going for pedicures--I gave up manicures. I'm in the paint too much and often up to my elbows. Going with my granddaughter will make foot maintenance more fun.

  6. A house full of chatter will be joy, a bunch of holidays celebrated all at once. I'll be the one behind the camera.

  7. Good gosh LW, they are never going to want to leave! Your house looks perfect...ok except for the last photo haha The first photo makes me want to get poofy pillows. Poofy pillows are so nice! I'll bet you are going to have a blast with the youngsters and Kelly will love her portrait. I bought, but didn't read, "Sugar Blues" too.

    1. Me too! I read it years ago and lost the copy. I bought a new one, but lost interest.

Yes they will. We're their ride from and to the airport. How much tripping over each other can you take? A lot when you only see them once a year.
